Miss Tanya has been owner and director since she opened the studio doors in 1995 with 75 students and 2 dance rooms. She is a lifelong certified member of the Dance Educators of America. Miss Tanya has won numerous awards for her outstanding talent and choreography, along with her award-winning competition teams and private lessons. She is honored to receive the “Best Choreography” Award at LV Dance Challenge numerous times not only for herself but her staff too. Her students have performed at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Harlem Globetrotters, IronPigs, Hershey Park and many have competed at Nationals with Starpower, Sophisticated Productions, and Showstopper Competitions. Miss Tanya has met and educated many students in the Lehigh Valley that have graduated and continued with dance in college, gone on to perform in the arts or are now educating young dancers. EOD has been Miss Tanya’s dream come true 25 years ago and she is blessed to share her love of dance with every the student that walks through the door.
Miss Meghan Kohler (Assistant Director/Instructor)

Miss Meghan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University at Buffalo with her BFA in Dance. She has been dancing since the age of 4 under the direction of Miss Tanya. She was a competitive dancer, student teacher, and performed in Disney World and Hershey Park. She has also studied under Oleg Briansky and Mireille Briane at the Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Meghan has trained at numerous programs such as the Briansky Saratoga Ballet Center, Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, and the Point Park Summer Dance Intensive. While in Buffalo, she was a member of the Zodiaque Dance Company. She performed at the American College Dance Festival in both Buffalo and Rochester, NY. Throughout her four years at the University at Buffalo she was not only given the opportunity to perform, but also choreograph. Meghan’s competitive dances have won numerous choreography awards and top scores. Meghan is the choreographer for Notre Dame Summer Theatre Company and Notre Dame High School Arts Department. Her choreography was a part of the Freddy Award winning musicals “Little Women”, “Music Man”, “Sweeney Todd”, “A Tale of Two Cities”, and “She Loves Me”. She is also a substitute teacher for the dance department at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts. Meghan continues to further her education by taking dance classes at Broadway Dance Center in New York City and studying the Ron Fletcher Pilates method. Miss Meghan is excited to be teaching at Expression of Dance to share her love of dance with her students.
Miss Nicole grew up dancing at Miss Tanya’s Expression of Dance and she is so happy to continue being a part of the dance world as our EOD studio office manager. Nicole has been with us as our office manager since 2009. Miss Kayleigh has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She came to Expression of Dance at the age of 8 as a member of a competition jazz team, and later was also a member of gymnastics, lyrical, and ballet teams. She also competed many award winning solos, duos, and a trio. Through EOD, she had the opportunity to perform in Hershey Park, Walt Disney World, and as a part of Power Pak for StarPower Competition in Ocean City, Maryland. She made the Northampton High School Dance Team in 7th grade, and performed and competed with the NHS team for 3 years until she was accepted at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts (LVPA). At LVPA, she had many opportunities to perform, including Poverty Requiem at City Hall in Bethlehem, PA, NYC and Washington, DC. She attended summer dance programs at Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley, the University of the Arts, and DeSales University. After graduating from LVPA she attended DeSales University and received her BA in Dance in 2013. She attended the American College Dance Festival in the Spring of 2011 and performed in NYC at the Dance New Amsterdam Works in Progress show in the Fall of 2011. Miss Kayleigh has had many opportunities to choreograph at LVPA and DeSales for student choreographed performances as well as at EOD in her junior and senior year of High School. In addition to dancing, she has also enjoyed the many chances to work behind the scenes for shows at LVPA and DeSales. Miss Kayleigh is thrilled to be back “home” teaching at EOD and hopes to help her students find their love for dance, just as her teachers did for her.

Miss Jordan graduated in 2016 with a dance major and business minor from DeSales University. She has been extensively trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and modern. She grew up dancing at and competing with Accent School of Dance. She was a member of the Parkland High School Varsity Dance Team, and the DeSales University Dance Team. She received her personal trainer certification in 2017, and teaches fitness classes at various gyms throughout the area. Miss Jordan has recently become a member of the professional dance company Introspective Movement Project. She hopes to continue her career in dance as a performer and teacher. She is very excited to begin another season teaching at Miss Tanya’s Expression of Dance!

Nicole B. Hockenberry, a PA native, has been tap dancing professionally for over 20 years. Nicole became a performing member of A&G Dance in 1991, under the Artistic Direction of Germaine Salsberg and Manhattan Tap in 1992, under the Artistic Direction of Heather Cornell. As the founder and director of T.A.P. (1995-2006 & 2013-ongoing), Nicole has been asked to teach and perform with the New York Foundation for the Arts, the St. Louis Tap Festival, Soul to Sole (Austin, TX), Columbus Taps, Third Coast Rhythm Project (San Antonio, TX), Southeastern Tap Explosion (Atlanta, GA), Everything on Tap! (Dallas, TX), Traditions in Tap (New York City), Tap Jam (Albuquerque, NM), Chicago Human Rhythm Project, The Big Apple Tap Festival, SoFlo Tap Fest, The Rock City Tap Festival, Resonance Tap Experience and Tap City: The New York Tap Festival, among others. Nicole’s choreography has been commissioned by tap companies throughout the country, including RPM (San Antonio, TX), Tap Ties (Allentown, PA), In Motion (Chester, NJ) and Austin Tap Ensemble (Austin, TX). Nicole joined Germaine Ingram, tap partner to La Vaughn Robinson, for performances in the Philadelphia DanceBoom! Series in 2005, held at the famous WILMA Theatre in Philadelphia, PA. Nicole was a founding member of the women’s tap trio, The Shelley Oliver Tap Dancers, under the Artistic Direction of Shelley Oliver and the Musical Direction of David Leonhardt from 1997 – 2002. Nicole is a featured speaker and performer on behalf of Dr. James ‘Buster’ Brown, in the Doctors of Dance Documentary filmed in February 2002, at Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma. Nicole spent twelve years as an adjunct professor of Dance at Cedar Crest College (Allentown, PA) and three years a Master Lecturer at the University of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA), teaching tap courses involving Musical Structure, Tap History and Improvisation as well as directing both the Cedar Crest and UArts Tap Ensembles. Currently, Nicole is a part-time Lecturer of Tap in the Dance Department of Muhlenberg College (Allentown, PA) and runs the MCDC Tap program. Nicole is the 2017 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the LVAIC Dance Consortium. Nicole, along with her husband Mark and children Julia and Alan, make their home in Eastern Pennsylvania and are also the proud owners of Crafty Nicole, (www.craftynicole.com), an online custom designed, clay accessory business that services the international tap community.
Miss Noelle began studying dance at age three. Miss Noelle continued to dance competitively throughout middle and high school, participating in various workshops and performance opportunities. Miss Noelle received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware in Newark, DE. While attending the University of Delaware, Miss Noelle continued her dance career as a member of the University of Delaware Dance Team, performing at sporting and campus events, including football and basketball games, and competing at the Universal Dance Association College National Championships. Miss Noelle began teaching jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, and preschool classes at Miss Tanya’s Expression of Dance in 2002. She worked with competition teams, winning numerous awards throughout the years. In addition to teaching dance classes, Miss Noelle has thirteen years of experience in the field of education. Miss Noelle has a Master’s Degree in Reading and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Currently, she is an elementary school principal in New Jersey. Miss Noelle is very excited to be back at Expression of Dance and to share her passion for teaching and dancing with her students.
Miss Jenn trained at Bucks County Dance Centre, Wendy’s Dance Center and the University of the Arts Dance Extension Program. She performed on Temple University’s Dance Team and as a dancer at Sesame Place theme park. After 6 years of teaching in Bucks, she relocated and joined Expression of Dance in 2002. Miss Jenn has received several awards for choreography over the years including the “Cool Choreography” award from the DAP Competition for a solo jazz performance of Back In Business in 2005, the “Senior Top Choreography” award from the NDS Competition for a group tap performance of Lunatics in 2006, the “Great Intrepretation” award from the DAP Competition for a group lyrical performance of American Beauty in 2007, “Outstanding Choreography” awards from the LV Dance Challenge for a group tap performance of Fabulous Feet and from the Starquest Competition for a group lyrical performance of Breathe and production performance of Join the Circus in 2008, the “Outstanding Choreography” award from the Nexstar Competition for the lyrical group performance Gravity in 2009, the award for “Excellence In Choreography” from the Starquest Competition for the contemporary group performance of Count to Ten in 2010, “Outstanding Choreography” award from the LV Dance Challenge for a solo contemporary performance of Just Dance in 2011, and the “Outstanding Choreography” award from the Starpower Competition for the lyrical group performance of Earth Song in 2013. Miss Jenn is the founder of the Lehigh Valley Dance Alliance (LVDA), whose mission is to better the opportunities for dancers of the area by bringing in master teachers and creating events to build dance awareness. Through LVDA and other master workshops, Miss Jenn strives to bring a fresh perspective, offer new challenges and share her passion for dance with her students.

Miss Michelle studied classical ballet under the instruction of Timothy Draper, artistic director of the Rochester City Ballet. She performed many lead roles in full-featured classical ballets. Miss Michelle danced the role of The Dew Drop Fairy, from The Waltz of the Flowers, in The Nutcracker Ballet. She danced various solos and duets in the second act of The Nutcracker: The Chinese Dance, The Merlitons Dance, The Spanish Dance, and The English Toffee Dance. In Firebird, Miss Michelle was the lead maiden where she performed solos and a pas de daux. She also starred as the Wolf in Peter and the Wolf. Miss Michelle was selected to attend the New York State Summer School of the Arts in Saratoga Springs (summer home of the New York City Ballet). There she studied ballet under lead instructors from The School of American Ballet and principle dancers from the New York City Ballet. Michelle received her Bachelor’s degree in English and her Master’s degree in Elementary Education from The College at Brockport, State University of New York. Currently Miss Michelle teaches kindergarten in Clinton, New Jersey.
Miss Christine attended dance classes at Miss Jeanne’s School of Dance Arts from elementary school to high school and was trained in jazz, ballet, and tap. At Kutztown University, Miss Christine was one of only two freshmen to be chosen for the University Dance Company, “Performing Dance Portmanteau,” where she performed a variety of dance styles including contemporary, modern, and jazz. At Kutztown she was also one of the inaugural members of the Dance Team, performing hip-hop performances at basketball games and promotional events. After college, Miss Christine continued her dance education in the art of tap performance. Miss Christine has also choreographed routines for Northampton County Community College Cheerleaders and several years of the “fitness” and “poise and composure” on-stage portions of the Lehigh Valley’s Jr. Miss Program/Lehigh Valley’s Outstanding Young Woman, and has judged several Pennsylvania preliminaries for the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant. These have included Miss Berks County, Miss Butler County, Miss Moraine State, Miss Keystone, Miss Lehigh Area, and Miss Northeast. Miss Christine is excited to bring her enthusiasm for dance and learning to Expressions of Dance. She encourages her students to have fun, try their hardest and learn something new each and every class.
Miss Chloe is currently a student at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA studying to earn her certification in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Psychology and a minor in Dance. She has been dancing since she was four years old and began her early training under Barbara Piotrowski at Miss Jeanne’s School of Dance Arts in Bethlehem. Additionally, she has also trained at The Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley, Relevé Dance Academy in Phoenixville, PA, and is a graduate of The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts, Class of 2018, where she was a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and was the recipient of the Most Outstanding Dancer Award at graduation. During her time at LVPA, she took advantage of many master class and performance opportunities with well renowned companies and choreographers such as Madboots, Roni Koresh, Tiffanie Carson, Lehrer Dance, Larry Keigwin, and attended the National High School Dance Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, to name a few. She also took advantage of opportunities to showcase her own choreography on the LVPA stage during her Junior and Senior year. Additionally, she was an employee at Freemotion Dance Store for three years where she learned how to properly fit students into pointe shoes. After studying at the University of Tampa for one year, Miss Chloe is thrilled to be back in the Lehigh Valley and begin her journey teaching and sharing her love of dance at EOD!
Miss Hannah is a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She has performed in the MainStage musicals aboard Disney Cruise Line, for park guests at Cedar Fair’s Kings Island theme park, and on tour with Spirit Production’s, Broadway Christmas Wonderland. Her favorite regional theatre credits include The Producers and James and the Giant Peach with the Peterborough Players in New Hampshire, and 42nd Street and A Chorus Line as Cassie Ferguson with the Covedale Theatre in Cincinnati, OH. She has a B.F.A. in Dance from Wright State University in Dayton, OH where she performed in MainStage musicals, including Hairspray, Phantom of the Opera, and Oklahoma! dancing the role of Dream Laurey. She danced with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company II, and choreographed works performed on the MainStage. Previously, she trained Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Acrobatics for 15 years at Just Off Broadway in Cincinnati, OH, as well as Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Annaliese Von Oettingen School of Ballet, Next Generation Ballet, Tevlin Ballet, Planet Dance, and American Eagle Gymnastics. As a soloist she was recognized as the top dancer, regionally and nationally, representing major dance organizations such as Dance Masters of America, Kids Artistic Revue, and the largest solo art competition in Cincinnati, the Overture Awards. Most recently, she spent 4 years in NYC where she studied at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre as well as teaching and choreographing for studios in NY, NJ, and CT. Her passion for Acrodance led her to become an Acrobatic Arts certified teacher. She looks forward to teaching at Expression of Dance!
