Our 2022-2023 Competition Season

COMPETITIONS & PERFORMANCES

All students must be available to compete all days scheduled for the competition weekends. Competitions do not give refunds for injuries or other reasons for not being able to perform.

When planning a competition weekend, be prepared for your child to compete at any time on Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday. We pride ourselves on being an organized, professional studio and will not accept special requests or ask for changes to the dance competition schedule (except in the case of emergencies).

We will receive the schedule from the competition company about 1-2 weeks prior. The schedule will be emailed and posted on our website once it is received.

Costumes, accessories, hair and make-up supplies, and transportation to and from the competition will be your responsibility. If you do not have all of the pieces to your costume, you will not compete. Points are deducted for missing costume pieces, and it is not fair to the other teammates.

Students are to be at the competition location, dressed and warmed-up, 1 hour before the scheduled rehearsal time.

*Competition fees are non-refundable*

Important Reminders for our MANDATORY STAGE REHEARSAL

Hello Competition Parents,

Please review the guidelines for Saturday’s closed dress rehearsal (see your January competition newsletter with links or the website/competition students).

  • Only 2-3 family members will be invited in to the auditorium toward the end of your daughter’s team rehearsal.
  • THIS WILL BE THE ONLY TIME YOU MAY VIDEOTAPE, AS THIS POLICY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT ALL COMPETITIONS.
  • Just a reminder to not post any rehearsal videos on social media. The dances are not quite ready yet to be seen. We want to keep everything a surprise for the competition season!!

ARRIVE EARLY!!

We start with team photos – this is with the students in full costume, hair and make up, so they must be ready to go upon arrival. Once your daughter is with a teacher for photos and warm up, please wait in the lobby until called in to the auditorium.

STEAM ALL COSTUMES PRIOR TO THIS SATURDAY (production you may not need to steam due to all of the sequins). See my pics of samples below.

TIPS/ADVICE:

Do not steam the costume then put it in your garment bag…this will only wrinkle it again.

Place costume in the bag right before you leave and as soon as you arrive, take them out of the bag immediately, to prevent wrinkles from what you just steamed.

I used the costume notes from the portal to print and place on garment bag to review and make sure all accessories are with the costume.

BRING EXTRAS OF THE FOLLOWING:

Tights, nude bra (with clean clear straps), shoes, bobby pins, hairspray, make up & a closed water bottle.

Students should bring a pair of closed toe shoes / sneakers to walk in before or after their rehearsals…no bare feet or socks. Let’s protect those dancing feet 😉

2023 MOCK COMPETITION

Hello Solos & Duos,

This is a closed rehearsal for immediate family only (up to 2-3 family members may attend). All performers and guests are required to stay from beginning to end to watch and support one another.

Please review how the event will take place and the opportunity to have photos taken with Tim Miller prior to the competition.

In order to make sure your costume is ready and fits properly (without any mishaps), make sure to wear it and practice full out prior to this event.

Your judges are excited and can’t wait to see you kick off our competition season!
